A paradise among olive trees

A paradise among olive trees

On the rolling hills of the Black Rooster area, in the very heart of Chianti, between Radda, Castellina and Vagliagli sits Pornanino, a lovingly restored biological olive oil estate surrounded by 36 hectares of olive groves and wooded hills. The rivers Arbia and Serchio mark the boundaries.

The owner’s Franco and Lia were a part of a group of neo farmers (and friends) who came from major European and Italian cities in search of a slower-paced lifestyle where basic values of life are emphasised in everyday living. Their daughter Francesca and son-in-law Matteo have now taken on the role of cultivators and producers of the top-quality biological extra virgin olive oil with great passion, and Matteo now conducts the presentation and tasting of the oil, with Francesca who also occupies herself with the guests.

Fantastic...again!

This was our third stay at Pornanino and it did not disappoint. Francesca and Matteo were once again the perfect hosts and couldn't do enough to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. The cottages are very well equipped and the location is to die for... (Mark S.- UK)
